ITRAN’S IT800 Narrowband PLC Technology Powers “Smart Home” Projects of Hyundai Constructions and LG Constructions in S. Korea

PLANET Systems Co. Ltd (www.planetsys.co.kr), a leading provider of power line communication (PLC)
control and networking systems, has recently completed a successful installation of over 2,000
apartments in “Smart Home” projects in South Korea, for Hyundai Constructions and LG Constructions,
using ITRAN Communications’ IT800 narrowband PLC technology (www.yitran.com).

The apartments were equipped with Internet connected appliances and remote controlled lights gas and
water switches. A gateway connected to the Internet and to a wireless access point on one end and to
the power line on the other end, enables remote control over the power line, of appliances,
switches and lights using a wireless PDA within the apartment and a cellular phone from any distant
location.
“The combination of wireless handheld devices, Internet connection and PLC provides the
