Yitran offers its high performance, PLC optimized, royalty free MAC (Medium Access Control Layer)/DLL (Data Link Layer) on top of its uniquely robust and reliable narrowband and broadband PHY (Physical Layer).

 

 

 

Distributed MAC for Broadband Solutions

 

 

 

Optimized for power line communication, Yitran's distributed MAC implementation is designed to support a wide variety of broadband applications.

 

 

 

Based on proven MAC protocol standards and concepts (such as IEEE 802.11), our distributed MAC integrates patented and patent pending enhancements specially adapted for the power line medium.  By controlling various parameters (such as packet size, power level and rate), Yitran’s MAC enables superior power line physical layer performance.

 

 

 

Implemented primarily in hardware (the ITC1 chip), the Yitran MAC employs a small amount of software code that is easily and cost-effectively integrated into a variety of low cost micro-controllers and requires limited memory.

Optimized for power line communication, Yitran's DLL implementation is designed to support a wide variety of narrowband applications.

 

 

 

Based on proven protocol standards and concepts (such as IEEE 802.11), our DLL integrates patented and patent pending enhancements specially adapted for the power line medium, such as Adaptive Back-off mechanism. These enhancements together with a simple command language Host interface enable quick and simple implementation of a high performance PLC narrowband network for Command and Control, Automation and a variety of additional applications

 

 

 

Integrated in the IT800SCP and IT800D on top of the PHY, the DLL requires no additional resources and seamlessly maximizing the utilization of the PHY.
